Romanian Archives of Microbiology and Immunology is a quarterly journal published by "Cantacuzino" National Institute of Research-Development for Microbiology and Immunology, Bucharest, Romania.
The journal was founded by Professor Ion Cantacuzino in 1928 and had been called Archives roumaines de pathologie experimentale et de microbiologie until 1991 when the title changed to Romanian Archives of Microbiology and Immunology (NLM Catalog).
Except for short periods of temporary interruption during World War Two (1939-1941) and post-war (1949-1956), Romanian Archives of Microbiology and Immunology has been published regularly over the years.
Starting volume 64, No. 1-4/2005 the Romanian Archives of Microbiology and Immunology has been edited in electronic format, which allowed posting abstracts of the articles included in each issue on the journal’s website thus contributing to a better international circulation of scientific information.
Romanian Archives of Microbiology and Immunology has been involved in the international scientific publications exchange system, contributing both to the dissemination of the results of Romanian research in the fields of microbiology (bacteriology, virology, parasitology) and immunology and to the increase of the documentary fund of the scientific library of "Cantacuzino" N.I.R.D.M.I. .
